2017
The newest EP from Singer/Songwriter Patrick Ames features the artist on a MIDI guitar synthesizer playing the piano and soprano saxophone via his Gibson Hummingbird. From the Gospel-driven, political revival "Reawakened,” to the skip-down-the-sidewalk "This Small Town", Ames’ new EP is full of surprises. His two backup singers are full-throated and in rare form for this 2017 wake-up reminder call about Ames’ “Indie music.”
I talked to Michael
Just the other week
For hours he told me
He liked living in that city
His job he loved so
completely
The lonely lie so easily
I met with B ecca
Down at the bakery
All she wants is kids
Sips coffee, has a sweet
We talk about the past
She Smiles protectively
The lonely lie so easily
I mentioned Sally
In a conversation with Jane
That Martin had passed by here
And didn't get off the train
And Sally said quite out loud
Time to Celebrate
The lonely lie so easily
I asked the Bartender
For some paper and ink
So I could write these lyrics
hoe about another drink?
He looked me in the eyes
Can you get home tonight
The lonely lie so easily
